360 v.s.PS3

I think ilike 360 because it has better games,xbox live,musc,graphics,and how it is low price.

Anyway, I would say they both have their advantages. As I own both, here it goes:

Pro's Xbox 360:
+ Best library of games available right now (most important pro!)
+ Online service is the best out there
+ Price is fair enough these days
Con's Xbox 360:
- High chance of broken console (believe me, even I've had it twice)
- Playing online costs money
- Developers are hitting the ceiling as far as graphics go

Pro's PS3:
+ Important exclusive franchise (Metal Gear, Uncharted, Little Big Planet)
+ Online is free
+ Graphics are going to get a lot better in the next few years
Con's PS3:
- Internet service not as good as Xbox Live
- A bit more quality games would be nice
- Price is a little steep for many consumers

In the end, both have games that are worth playing.

I was going to write the PS3 off, til i started my 'new & upcoming games' lists, and man, some of the stuff coming out for PS3 makes it almost worth the price of admission. The wii may end up being a gimmick, popular only for its first-party releases (mario, zelda, wii fit, etc...)

Well Prelude if you go by that, all Nintendo consoles have been gimmicks, especially the Cube and N64. For most people, the Nintendo games are the reason to pick up a Nintendo console. Maybe it's not great to own only a console by Nintendo, but there are millions of people who do not want to miss the latest Zelda or Mario, and with good reason.

Anyway, sorry for the off topic chatter. Just had to get that out. And the Wii is currently the leader as well, selling more than the other consoles... surely Nintendo is doing something right?

hey, i'm not bashing nintendo's first-party games. if you saw my gamecube collection, you'd understand lol

mario party 4 to 7, two zeldas, mario sunshine, mario tennis, mario kart, paper mario...

i guess gimmick is too harsh a word for what is the #1 selling console by a mile, the Wii. i'd love to get it too, just wish companies other than nintendo came up with awesome titles that take full advantage of the wiimote. there's the odd one here and there, but it is definitely the first-party titles pulling all the weight right now.

Haha, you are right chibiyusa, I guess it's because Wii is disrupting the market in a way people just start talking about it. And no problems Prelude, I wasn't calling you out or anything, I just wanted to state my opinion on the Wii while I was at it. No doubt that third party stuff is lacking on the Wii, it basically has been on every Nintendo console since the N64.

Anyway, if anyone needs to decide which of the two consoles to get, just look at the games line up of both and see what's more appealing to you. That's your answer.

Xbox 360 New Releases

Nintendo Wii New Releases

Basically, factor out all releases coming out on both X360 and PS3, and you're just left with Xbox exclusives (Fable, Halo Wars, Ninja Gaide II, Fable 2, Gears of War 2, Alan Wake), and PS3 exclusives (Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Turismo, Final Fantasy XIII, Haze, Resistance 2). So you're best bet is to judge your next console on those titles.

And the Wii, well as you can see, the majority are Wii exclusives, though definitely geared more towards 'E' crowd instead of the 'M' crowd.

From the past games that have been released on the 360 the next couple exclusive games are not that great in comparison.
While the PS3 has been on a slippery slope since its launch its been slowing gaining ground because of Blu-ray winning the HD war and a lot of the exclusive games that are coming out are series that I really enjoy most people that have played any of the past PS games will finally buy the PS3 because of them.
And while I don't have a PS3 or 360, I will guarantee that I am buying a PS3 on June 12th ever if I have to go into a little bit of debt.

The main disadvantage of 360 is
IT HAS NO COOLER AND IT BURNS IN THE FIRST WEEK OF PLAYIN'.

I don't care whether PS3 is too much money or cheap, it's still better for me.

Why would I? Cause the PS3 is better than the 360? Nope~ Don't expect me to start liking something I don't like.

I agree. Halo is way overrated. I give creds to the first one for helping revolutionize FPS genre on consoles, but 2 and 3 are jokes, and Halo 1 itself is nothing compared to the true FPS shooters out there (Half-Life 2, Call of Duty series, Bioshock, Unreal Tournament, Quake Arena)

I actually gave up on Halo 1, shortly after the 'flood'. Every room afterwards was a repeat of previous room. Developers admitted they rushed to finish the game in time for Xbox launch, so many of later levels were only meant to be duplicated 'place-holders', but real levels never got finished.

I'm sorry Massaro Yoyu but this is not the case. I take a lot of care of my gaming systems (as a videogame journalist I do know how to do that - it's crazy to use my job as a defense but this is the only time where it may actually convince you that I do take care of my consoles). It's just that the Xbox 360 has a lot of problems technically. Even Microsoft themselves have admitted that. There's nothing wrong with acknowledging the technical problems of the 360, everyone knows it.

The red ring of death can not be avoided by just giving your console enough room. Unfortunately.

yeah the 360 and the x box have issues i agree i hated the x box beacuse everything came loose and my controllers wouldnt work

I have Xbox 360 which I like..but I'd like to get PS3 someday..seems to have more games I'd be into. :)
