That's the total time of EXTRA content in the LOTR trilogy extended blue-ray discs. It's an excuse to re-watch, again, this amazing trilogy. Even disregarding the extra scenes of the extended DVD release, it's almost 1 hour of new scenes! I'm as excited to re-watch this edition almost as I was when waiting for TTT and TRotK.

I wonder, has anyone watched this BR edition yet? Did you notice the new scenes? I'm rather curious since I was completely caught off-guard, and yes I am very aware that most of them are probably just old scenes extended a few more minutes or brought-back cuts that were necessary for a cohesive edition, but I still can't help and be excited about it!

I looked at the detailed information for both the blue-ray and extended and they look they have the same run time. So, I'm not sure if the blue-ray really has any extra footage added to the run time of the films or not. It might just be how they worded it for the re-release.

It wouldn't surprise me ether way. I would just like to hold off on buying a blue-ray player at least until... Skylab sends a Terminator to my home to install the darn thing.

It's around 20 more minutes for both the fellowship and two towers and 10 minutes more for the return of the king. You can check the exact amount of time each version has in IMDB. I have also confirmed this with the movies themselves, there's definitely more time.

I have to watch them yet though, I need to find time to watch them peacefully.

Very Cool :D

It has been some time since I have watched any of the films. So, now there is a little something more to look forward to. Until, then I guess I'll just be greentoast with envy.
