2 little review/post suggestions

tartan_skirt 18 years, 2 months ago at Apr 17 17:36 -
It would be nice in the future to have:

1. The option to preview a review/post. I can spot my mistakes easier if I can see the final copy, and it would stop me going back and forth editing all the time.

2. An automatic save thingy (oh yeh, real technical there) for reviews/posts. If you've ever used LiveJournal you'll know what I mean. If for some reason you're directed away from the page you're on or the browser closes your stuff is saved for you and you don't lose anything. I've lost reviews a couple of times and having to rewrite them from scratch isn't fun (and the rewrites always feel lacking).

sorry, don't mean to be a Firefox pusher, just thought I'd mention those 2 points are moot over on my end:

1. Firefox 2 has a built-in spell checker. works like a charm in all review/comment/post boxes here at Listal.

2. With Firefox, if i get redirected to another page, I just hit BACK and what I typed into review box is still there. Also, browser redirects/crashes don't affect me.

Decent suggestions, but I'd put them on the back burner compared to other things I can't wait for (namely improved tagging and fully editable entries, including cast lists)

Yeh, they are things I can definately wait for. And I don't trust spell checkers too often, I prefer to not let that part of my brain go mushy by letting computers do it for me. :P And it's more just being able to preview what I've written to see if what I've said actually makes any sense at all... (which frequently it doesn't).

Damn Firefox! *shakes fist at browser* I tried it and didn't find it that great. ;)

Oh.. I can't live without Firefox.. I actually asked Helpdesk ehre at work if I could have it installed and they denied me! :( ... In the beginning, I didn't see much of a difference, but with repeated use, the tabs and great extensions/add-ons, Firefox has become my preferred browser.

I would delete IE if it weren't for the fact that lots of sites are IE-compatible only.

well, Billy Gates tried Firefox and thought of it so highly that he stole all their ideas and put them into IE7. :P

in seriousness, the trick to falling in love with the Fox is to have all the right extensions.

I don't even understand extensions! :P

IE7 comes with tabs now and thats all I care about. :P All I can say is this - at least it's better than AOL's browser.

I won't even touch the new IE... I feel like I'm cheating on the moz.

And I remember AOL the couple of times I was forced to use it. The trick was to use it to connect, and then switch to IE.
