1,000 Recordings to Hear Before You Die: anyone read this?

Has anyone seen this, and what did you think of Tom Moon's choices? A lot of the stuff I didn't know at all, but I'm ridiculously devoted to The Beatles and they were very well represented. Actually, they tied with Beethoven for the largest number of albums that made the list -- 6 each. Which, of course, opens another can of worms: can music of different genres really be compared to one another? Personally, I think they can, to a certain extent, but I know lots of classical music gurus will disagree heartily.
I guess it's a lot like books that are devoted to recommending things like the 100 best books to read, etc. They always leave something really fantastic out. However, I have to say that 1,001 Books You Must Read Before You Die is probably the most comprehensive list I've ever seen, and managed to nearly not leave a single great author out.

Whoops, I should have mentioned that Tom Moon's site, [Link removed - login to see] has the entire list searchable by title or artist, though the book lists them all alphabetically.

never read it.
