After relocating from White Plains, NY to Los Angeles, Anderson began a successful modeling career appearing in nationwide clothing catalogues, music videos, runway shows and beauty pageants. In 1988, she placed 1st runner up in the Ms. Black California Pageant. After meeting Cindy Herron of the famous quartet ENVOGUE, Anderson was bitten by the entertainment bug and decided to try her hand at acting.
