T. J. Martin is an American documentary film maker. A graduate of Roosevelt High School and Fairhaven College at Western Washington University, he is best known for co-directing Undefeated (2011), a documentary about a high school football team, which won the Academy Award for Best Documentary on on February 26, 2012. He is, notably, the first African-American to win this award.

"Director T.J. Miller became the first black documentary feature winner for his film Undefeated, sharing the award with Dan Lindsay and Rich Middlemas. Undefeated beat fellow documentary nominees Hell and Back Again, If a Tree Falls: A Story of the Earth Liberation Front, Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory and Pina.
