I think that goes for everything, some people rate games highly because it is a franchise they like.

exactly. also the "seen, own,.." thing should be available only after it's released.

I agree, came here to suggest the same after seeing the profile for The Dark Knight Rises (2012), some people have it listed as if they had seen it already.

And Autofluke is right, it should apply to all items.

The problem is that sometimes a film is released in another country several days/weeks/months/years before it is released in another.

Works that way on IMDb.com You can't rate a movie or TV show before it is released at least in a country.
