Stéphane Charbonnier (French: [ʃaʁbɔnje]; 21 August 1967 – 7 January 2015), known as Charb ([ʃaʁb]), was a French caricaturist and journalist, best known for his work with Charlie Hebdo where he became editor in 2009. He was known for his controversial and thought-provoking illustrations and caricatures.
He was killed in the Charlie Hebdo shooting in January 2015.
