Simone Bolelli, born October 8, 1985 in Bologna, is a professional Italian tennis player.
Bolelli began playing tennis at age seven and admired Stefan Edberg and Patrick Rafter growing up.
In 2003, Bolelli reached his first International Tennis Federation tournament semifinal at Egypt F1, losing to 485th-ranked Jaroslav Pospisil.
His breakthrough came when he made a Grand Slam debut at the 2007 French Open, beating former runner-up Martin Verkerk and then losing to Guillermo Cañas.
