Sidney Meyers

Sidney Meyers was an American film director and editor best known for directing and writing "The Quiet One" (1948), which remains the only documentary to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. He also edited the film "Edge of the City" (1957), starring Sidney Poitier and John Cassavetes and directed by Martin Ritt. Meyers also served first as the chief American film editor for the British Ministry of Information during World War II and later worked as a film editor for the U.S. Office of War Information.
