Description: Is an American rock band from Jacksonville, Florida, formed in 2001 and founded by members Brent Smith, Brad Stewart, Jasin Todd, and Barry Kerch. Zach Myers joined Shinedown as a touring rhythm guitarist in 2005, before becoming their temporary bassist after the departure of Brad Stewart in 2007. Leave a Whisper is the debut album by Shinedown, a hard rock band from Jacksonville, Florida. The album was released on May 27, 2003, faring well due to the success of the singles "Fly from the Inside" and "45". Leave a Whisper paved the way for Shinedown's successful second album, Us And Them, and was re-released on June 15, 2004 to incorporate the cover of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Man", as well as "Burning Bright (Sanford Mix)" and "45 (Acoustic)". The album's singles also fared well, "Fly from the Inside" reaching number 5, "45" reaching number 3, "Simple Man" reaching number 5, and "Burning Bright" reaching number 2 on the US Mainstream Rock list. Leave a Whisper is Shinedown's second best-selling album and has been certified platinum by the RIAA in the United States.
Leave a Whisper was produced by Atlantic Recording Company. All of the songs on the album were partially written by Brent Smith, with the exception of "Simple Man", which was written by Ronnie Van Zant and Gary Rossington. Others who helped write the album include, but are not limited to, Bob Marlette, Jasin Todd, Brad Stewart, Rick Beato, and Tony Battaglia.

Us and Them is the second studio album by American hard rock band Shinedown, released on October 4, 2005. The album had three singles, two of which, "Save Me" and "I Dare You," were used as themes for WWE pay-per-view events No Mercy 2005 and WrestleMania 22 respectively. Us and Them has been certified Gold by the RIAA in the United States, even though it is the band's least successful album to date. Famed artist James Jean made the cover art for the album.

The Sound of Madness is the third studio album by American rock band Shinedown, released June 24, 2008. The album's lead single, "Devour," was released to radio on May 5, 2008.
The album's lyrics explore diverse subject matter as opposed to their previous albums; "Devour" ventures into political territory while "What a Shame" tells a story about lead singer Brent Smith's uncle, who died during the recording of the album, and how Brent and his cousin, professional wrestler Olivia Smith, dealt with his death. The song "If You Only Knew," which is about Smith's then-fiance and newborn child, was the first time that he had written a love ballad for Shinedown.
Shinedown's tour to support the album subsequently started with the band playing a few festival shows before the release of The Sound of Madness.
The Sound of Madness has been certified Platinum by the RIAA for shipments over 1,000,000 copies.
"The Crow & the Butterfly" is the fifth single by the rock band Shinedown from their 2008 album The Sound of Madness. The song was written by Shinedown lead singer Brent Smith. On a blog on the Shinedown website, Brent Smith said this about the song:
"For me lyrically this was one of the most intense stories I have ever written. But I know the song means something different to everyone".

Amaryllis is the fourth studio album by American rock band Shinedown. It was announced on January 3, 2012, the same day as the first single, "Bully," was released, for release on March 27, with pre-orders opening on January 17. The album was recorded at Lightning Sound Studios, Ocean Way Recording and Capitol Studios, and was produced by Rob Cavallo, who also produced the band's previous album, The Sound of Madness. Amaryllis will be released on Atlantic Records in the US and via Roadrunner elsewhere.
Speaking about the album, Shinedown singer Brent Smith said that "During the recording [of Amaryllis], the vision of what Shinedown is and where it's going became completely clear. Amaryllis is the manifestation of that vision, the centerpiece of what Shinedown is. It reflects on everything we've done and where we're heading. It's a message of empowerment, perseverance, and inspiration that I think speaks to fans that have been with us since the beginning as well as those who are just learning about who we are and what we're about."
