Shea Farrell was born 21 October 1957 in Cornwall, New York (USA), to Edward Leo, Jr. and Mary Rose Drummey. He attended Portsmouth Abbey School in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, a Benedictine boarding school. He originally planned to be a professional football player.
After 18 years as an actor, Shea turned to production in 1997. He started at David E. Kelley Productions working in various positions within the company and shows, "The Practice", "Ally McBeal"
