The group is currently composed of members H.P. Baxxter, Rick J. Jordan and Michael Simon. Although most of the group's early recordings are in the styles of happy hardcore or hard trance, Scooter have experimented with other dance genres such as hardstyle and jumpstyle, and occasionally hip hop, hard rock and house.
Debuting with the single "Valleรฉ de Larmes," Scooter scored their breakthrough hit with the follow-up "Hyper Hyper," which sold over 700,000 copies in Germany alone. A series of Top Five hits followed, including "Move Your Ass!," "Friends" and "Endless Summer" (all later collected on the trio's 1995 debut LP ...and the Beat Goes On!); with 1996's Our Happy Hardcore, Scooter also scored their first British Top 20 hit, "Back in the U.K." Wicked Game appeared later that same year, and featured the techno-ballad "Break It Up"; in the wake of 1997's Age of Love, Bueller exited Scooter, and was replaced by Axel Coon for No Time to Chill. Back to the Heavyweight Jam followed in 1999.
The album Sheffield appeared in 2000 and contained the club hits "She's the Sun" and "I'm Your Pusher" along with a cover version of Soft Cell's "Sex Dwarf". We Bring The Noise! appeared in 2001 while 2002 saw the release of a live album, Encore, and the singles compilation Push the Beat for This Jam. Three Scooter singles - "Weekend!, "Maria", and "Jigga! Jigga! - filled Euro clubs in 2003 and the full-length The Stadium Techno Experience paid tribute to one of the band's favorites - The White Room - in both title and cover art. The band's 2004 release, Mind the Gap, was originally released in a "basic" edition, came out a few months later in a "regular" edition with some multimedia tracks added, and was reissued in 2005 in a "deluxe" edition with a bonus live disc.
The Ultimate Aural Orgasm is the twelfth studio album by Scooter. Two singles were released from it: "Behind The Cow" and "Lass Uns Tanzen". This is the first album released with new member Michael Simon. Its artwork is an homage to the 1987 album Music for the Masses by Depeche Mode.
Jumping All Over the World is the thirteenth studio album by German techno group Scooter, released in Germany in 2007. Five singles have been released from it: "The Question Is What Is the Question?", "And No Matches", "Jumping All Over the World", a remix of "I'm Lonely" and a new version of "Jump That Rock!" titled "Jump That Rock (Whatever You Want)" recorded with British rock group Status Quo. The album's original artwork features people performing Jumpstyle.
Under the Radar Over the Top is the fourteenth studio album by German hard dance group Scooter. The album was released on 2 October 2009, preceded by the single "J'adore Hardcore" on 14 August. A second single, "Ti Sento", was released on the same day as the album. The third single "The Sound Above My Hair" was released on November 27, 2009., and "Stuck on Replay", the 4th single from the album is being used as the official theme song of 2010 IIHF World Championship.
The Big Mash Up is the fifteenth studio album from German electronic dance music band Scooter and was released on 14 October 2011. The album was preceded by the single "The Only One" in May 2011, with a second single, "David Doesn't Eat", released on the same day as the album itself. The third single, "C'est Bleu" featuring Vicky Leandros, was released on December 2, 2011. On March 23rd a new version of "It's A Biz (Ain't Nobody)" is released as the fourth single.
On September 7, 2012, Scooter released a new single called "4 AM", which, so far, is available on a digital format only.
