Description:
Sappho (Greek: Σαπφώ, Sappho) was a Greek poet who lived in the city of Mytilene Lesbia, active cultural center in the seventh century BC. Born somewhere between 630 and 612 BC, was well respected and appreciated in ancient times, is considered "the tenth Muse". However, his poetry, due to erotic content, censored in the Middle Ages by the monks copyists, and what remained of his work were scarce fragments.
