Russell Braddon was an Australian writer of novels, biographies and TV scripts. His chronicle of his four years as a prisoner of war, "The Naked Island", sold more than a million copies. He is also known for his 1964 sci-fi novel "The Year of the Angry Rabbit"; the plot concerns an infestation of mutated rabbits. It was adapted into the 1972 sci-fi horror film "Night of the Lepus", which gained cult status for its laughably poor quality. Braddon also served in the Australian Army during World War II.
