Playing in numerous bands over the years, the two musician/songwriters wanted to get their own songs out on the Philadelphia music scene and they enjoyed moderate success in the 80โs & 90โs with "DRIVE" 1985-1987, and into the new millennium with the band "RED SKY" with whom they cut their first CD "Game Theory." Shortly after the release of "Game Theory" the band Red Sky evolved into Road Trip.
From early 2002 to late 2003, "Road Trip" had bassists Greg Locke & Joe Russo, as well as drummers Greg Romano & A.J. Sussman in and out of the band, with vocalist Kris Ballerini and guitarist Mat Monges. All were involved in recording & gigging.
In late 2003 Rob Lombardi joined & was introduced to new "Road Trip" vocalist - the dynamic and powerful singer/songwriter, Alyx Reinhardt who had taken time off from the music scene after returning from Europe where she had been fronting an original rock band. The three felt a positive chemistry and decided to give it a goโฆ in late 2004 Road Trip finally found the stability they were looking for in Lead Guitarist Mike Gerstner and Drummer Brian Berlanda. Veterans of the Philly Music Scene playing in both cover bands and original bands; the two brought the missing elements in attitude, personality and sound that Road Trip was looking for. Road Trip has a full show of original tunes that have a 70โs/80โs flair, which has been missing from rock music in the past few years. Road Trip has a powerful driving sound on its up-tempo tunes as well as a laid back melodic sound to its ballads. The lyrics are fun and tell true-to-life stories to which all can relate. The band started gigging regularly in 2005, and recorded their debut full length album "DRIVEN" in the fall of 2005. It was released in the spring of 2006.
