Richard Marx is the eponymous debut album by singer/songwriter Richard Marx, released in 1987. Marx became the second solo artist (the first being Whitney Houston) in recording history to reach the top three of the Billboard Hot 100 with four singles from a debut album, including his first number one Pop single "Hold On to the Nights" in mid-1988. The album's first single "Don't Mean Nothing" charted at number one on Billboard's Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 1987.

Repeat Offender is the second studio album by singer/songwriter Richard Marx. Released in mid-1989, it replaced Prince's Batman soundtrack at #1 on Billboard's album chart. The album went on to sell over four million copies in the United States alone (several times that worldwide) due to three singles in the Billboard Top Five including two #1 hits: "Satisfied" and the Platinum-selling "Right Here Waiting".

Rush Street is the third studio album by singer/songwriter Richard Marx. Released in late 1991, it sold over two million copies in the United States alone. Its first single, "Keep Coming Back," was #1 on the American Adult Contemporary chart for four consecutive weeks and peaked at #12 Pop. The follow-up single, "Hazard", hit #1 Adult Contemporary and reached #9 on the Billboard Hot 100, while "Take This Heart" and "Chains Around My Heart" were also Top Ten hits on the Billboard US Adult Contemporary charts. All four hits boasted popular music videos as well.

Paid Vacation is the fourth studio album by singer/songwriter Richard Marx. The album's first single "Now And Forever" hit #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. This song also spent eleven consecutive weeks at #1 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. The follow-up single, "The Way She Loves Me" hit #3 in the United States.

Flesh and Bone is the fifth studio album by singer/songwriter Richard Marx. It was released in 1997 and was Marx's final studio album released on the Capitol Records imprint. (Marx returned to EMI-Capitol in 2004.) This album hit number 70 on the Billboard album chart and sold 250,000 copies in the United States. The single "Until I Find You Again" reached number three on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and #42 on the Billboard Hot 100. Early pressings featured a bonus acoustic EP titled To The Bone. It also hit number one in other international markets. It was Marx's first album to not produce a #1 hit song.

Days In Avalon is the sixth studio album by singer/songwriter Richard Marx, released independently in 2000 on the now defunct label Signal 21. This was the only release on the label created by Marx and Blood, Sweat, and Tears drummer Bobby Colomby. The title track, "Days In Avalon", was the only song within the album to appear on any charts. The song spent twelve weeks on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, peaking at #25.

My Own Best Enemy is the seventh studio album by soft rock singer/songwriter Richard Marx. The album hit #126 on the Billboard album chart in 2004. The album produced two singles, "When You're Gone" and "Ready To Fly." Both of them reached the 'Hot Adult Top 40' chart. "Ready To Fly" also hit #22 on the 'Adult contemporary' chart.
The album marked a return to the microphone for Marx, who had spent the early-2000s as a successful songwriter and producer, after the comparatively weak commercial reception of his last album in 2000.

Emotional Remains is the eighth studio album by Richard Marx which was released digitally on October 31, 2008 on Marx's website. Emotional Remains was released simultaneously with Sundown and was re-released exclusively through Amazon.com on September 22, 2009 with two new tracks.
