Red Auerbach was an American professional basketball coach and executive. He was a head coach in the National Basketball Association (NBA), most notably with the Boston Celtics. He led the Celtics to an unprecedented championship run, winning eight NBA championships in a row from 1959 to 1966. Auerbach also served as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
