Graduated from the IDHEC.
As a student, he emigrated from Romania to France because of Ceausescu's dictatorship (1980).Worked as an editor, later as an assistant director, notably to Marco Ferreri in the 1980s.
Is the son of a Communist Jewish journalist, who wrote a screenplay for one of Lucian Pintilie's films.
Published his poems in a book named "Une vague en mal de mer" (1987).
President of the jury at the Angers First Film Festival in 2006.
