Psalms Renay Lynn Carroll-Salazar was born in Texas, the third youngest of six children. Her father is African American, and her mother is of Puerto Rican/Native American descent. She was raised in the small town of Orange Texas, near the Louisiana border. Her desire to become an actress formed at a young age, obsessed with classics like Anne of Green Gables, The Breakfast Club, and The Godfather.
