Populonia or Populonia Alta today is a frazione of the comune of Piombino (Tuscany, central Italy). As of 2009 its population was 17. Populonia is especially noteworthy for its Etruscan remains, including one of the main necropoleis in Italy, discovered by Isidoro Falchi.
