Morecambe is a coastal town in the county of Lancashire, in the northwest of England. It was once popular with holidaymakers, but has been in decline since the 1980's. Most of the attractions that were once in the town have now disappeared, and Morecambe has struggled to thrive in a world without seasonal visitors. Some investment has been made though, mainly in the art deco Midland Hotel, which had previously fallen into a state of disrepair. Morecambe's main attraction is the view across its tidal bay, which is navigable by foot to those who understand the sands and tides.
