Cuckfield

Cuckfield is a village in the Mid Sussex District of West Sussex, England. It is located 34 miles (54 km) south of London. Cuckfield's name is generally associated with the cuckoo bird which is the village emblem. It is one of the largest villages in West Sussex. According to the 2011 Census, this village has 3,500 residents.

Cuckfield is famous for its Holy Trinity Church from the 11th century and Ockenden Manor from the 16th century. Cuckfield became a market town by being awarded a Charter to hold a weekly market in 1255. In 1822, Mary Ann Mantell, a wife of Gideon Mantell, found the first known iguanodon fossils in a quarry of Whitemans Green — a place in the north of Cuckfield.
