Búzios

Armação dos Búzios, or simply Búzios, as it is popularly known, is a Brazilian municipality located in the Lakes Region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. It borders Cabo Frio to the west, a municipality from which it became autonomous in 1995. According to the 2022 census, it had 40,006 inhabitants. It is located approximately 173 kilometers from the center of the state capital. The coat of arms of Armação dos Búzios was designed by Luid Borges dos Santos - a dental surgeon, who won the competition promoted by the City Council in 1996.

It is a peninsula eight kilometers long with 23 beaches, receiving ocean currents from the Equator on one side and ocean currents from the South Pole on the other, resulting in beaches with both warm and cold waters.
