Peter Bowman

Peter Bowman was an American author best known for his 1945 novel "Beach Red" which was adapted into the 1967 Oscar-nominated film of the same name starring Cornel Wilde, who also directed and produced the film. Bowman based the novel on his experiences while serving with the United States Army Corps of Engineers in the Pacific Theater of World War II, where he received extensive training in amphibious landings. Bowman also served as a war correspondent and journalist.
