Peace are an English indie rock quartet from Birmingham, consisting of brothers Harrison (vocals, guitar) and Samuel Koisser (bass), Douglas Castle (guitar) and Dominic Boyce (drums). Signed to Columbia Records, the band began to receive critical acclaim in early 2012 from publications such as The Guardian and NME; who compared them to The Maccabees, Foals, Wu Lyf and Vampire Weekend.
The quartet released their debut extended play EP Delicious on September 7, 2012. Their first single, "Follow Baby", was released in April 2012; limited to 500 7" vinyl copies. With a debut studio album scheduled for release on March 25, 2013, the band are set to release lead single "Wraith" on January 13, 2013. It was announced by the BBC on December 9, 2012, that Peace had been nominated for the Sound of 2013 poll.
Peace formed in late 2011, with lead vocalist Harrison Koisser stating the band arose out of boredom; while the name was inspired by a photograph celebrating the end of World War Two.
In January 2012, Peace released their first track "Bblood" online. Having grabbed the attention of NME, the band were soon featured as part of the magazine's 'One's to Watch [in 2012]' feature; having been praised for:"Doomy, gruff vocals laced with foreboding guitars that board on tropical (and sound about 10 times more exhilarating than you imagine that could be". Peace were also well received by The Guardian, who hailed them "the future of indie".
Come April 2012, the band released their debut single "Follow Baby", which as a 7" vinyl was limited to 500 copies; 200 of which were signed by the four band members. Having supported the likes of Mystery Jets and The Vaccines on tour, Peace proceeded to release their debut extended play EP Delicious on September 7. Well-received by the BBC and NME, the four-track extended play featured "California Daze"; a track made available as a free download by the band in August of that year.
On 9 December 2012, the BBC announced that Peace had been nominated for the Sound of 2013 poll. Having failed to make the shortlist, the band released the lead single from their upcoming studio album "Wraith" on January 13, 2013; where it debuted at number seventy-five on the UK Singles Chart for the week ending January 26, 2013.
In February 2013, the band took the coveted opening slot on the annual NME Awards Tour alongside Palma Violets, Miles Kane and Django Django. The 12 date tour will finish at London's Brixton Academy on 23rd February. Peace will embark on a headline tour to promote their debut album "In Love" throughout April. The band will finish the jaunt with a four night residency at Birthdays, in Dalston.
