Wild & Undaunted

Multi-instrumentalist Lisa Knapp, who learned her craft in folk music sessions at Irish pubs in London, has come up with an evocative debut replete with sound textures, thanks to brooding arrangements featuring fiddle, accordion, hammered dulcimer, banjo, autoharp, guitar, recorders, whistles and pipes. Her singing has a wistful, fragile quality reminiscent of Anne Briggs, who Knapp cites as one of her musical influences. Eight traditional songs complement three of her own contemporary pieces.
