Description:
"The Silent Sun" is the premiere single by English rock band Genesis. It was written by Tony Banks and Peter Gabriel at a time when the band's potential producer, Jonathan King, was starting to lose interest. Knowing that King was a fan of the Bee Gees, Banks and Gabriel wrote the song specifically to recapture his attention. It worked. The band was signed and the song was released as a single on February 22, 1968, and they would soon begin work on their debut album, From Genesis to Revelation.
