The monstrous Impending Doom, throw a near perfect strike down the alley with this 2nd release. Unlike Nailed.Dead.Risen, their first release, Doom ventures into a more "listenable" type of metal.
There's a big step up from gore-grind to deathcore/death metal. The intro track "When Waters Run Deep", kicks your mood into a "circle-pit" mindset with it's eerie guitar riffs and gutturals. The vocalist Brooke goes from inhaling growling and pig squeals, to straight up awesome growling by exhaling. This is why I believe, this album is more popular. "When Waters.." runs right into the title track like a TSUNAMI.
Bone Crushing breakdowns, lyrics concerning the end times, hypocrites, faith and brutality. I'm a ridiculous fan of breakdowns and "More Than Conquerors" has one of my top 5 breakdowns..ohh man. Vocals are more understandable, production on this album is ear shattering and an awesome album overall.
Tracks to hear: Anything Goes and More Than Conquerors.
