Treat Her Right, in their late-1980s lifetime, were an outfit with a little dirt around the collar. Band members, half of whom went on to form Morphine, pledged "no overdubs." And indeed, Treat Her Right strove for scuz without sounding as rough as revivalist bluesmen. They try to get low-down with "King of Beers," but the scale tips back to the earnest side with soulful Mark Sandman songs such as "No Reason" and the sweet "Marie."
