The opening "At Your Funeral" cleverly shrouds its serious message--the memory of a late friend--in the language of a bullish punk scenester's boast that "This song will become / The anthem of your underground". Still, Conley sells his band too short: the likes of "Certain Tragedy" and "See You" combine the mainstream nous of Weezer with the sort of nu-punk histrionics in a way that should appeal to everyone from pop-punk fans to dedicated fanzine writers. --Louis Pattison
