Emerging from the Art-gallery basement scene of the early '80s, The U-Men brewed a jazz/surf/dada/punk wine that entranced as many as it horrified... Fire, Mud and White Lightning were the colors of their flag.

Banned for ages in their hometown, The U-Men hit the road, becoming one of the first groups to spread evidence to the rest of the U.S. that something very unusual was happening in the Northwest. Along the way they recorded for Bombshelter Records (the precursor to Sub-Pop), as well as Amphetamine Reptile and Homestead Records.
