According to a press release, Sod in the Seed will cover some familiar territory for Why? with its "psych-warped sunshine choruses, folksy jangle, internally knotted rhyme schemes, confessionals cut with wry wit and crude details." It will also find them "toughening up" and adding "woodwinds, horns, strings, [and] a choir" to their sound.
