Compared to erstwhile label-mates Franz Ferdinand, Arctic Monkeys, and Clinic, Test Icicles are the obviously shrieky, ratty, wild ones--and the ones with the most adventurous name. Maybe it's a moment-in-time thing, the incredible howling intensity of Test Icicles--as they mirror U.S. acts the Blood Brothers (and others), yet with notable differences. For Screening Purposes Only revs up on stuttering drum track rhythms and an aura that's not unlike LCD Soundsystem, assuming LCD was fronted by someone more akin to Alec Empire.
