Description:
As Ronan Keating made perfectly clear with his first solo release, the chart-topping "When You Say Nothing At All", his career away from Boyzone, like his career with them, is to be filled with ballads. So on his debut album the only real break from the Boyzone formula is in his choice of ballad. Gone are the over-processed personality-free favourites, replaced by the more heartfelt and decidedly country sounds of "In This Life", "Way You Make Me Feel" and "Only For You", which follow to the letter the acoustic and sentimental strains of his first solo No. 1. It's like he's been challenged
1. It's like he's been challenged by The Corrs to create the ultimate in radio friendly Irish-country-pop; mixing his gruff growls with their flouncy folk. On "Roller Coaster", Ronan gets brave and picks-up the pace, going full toe-tapping cheese with the help of ex-New Radicals singer/writer/producer and pop guru Greg Alexander. And cheesy as it is, it's fun, ridiculously catchy and like everything else that Ronan has to offer, hard to say no to. --Dan Gennoe
