The most underrated Squeeze album, this collection of songs is really top-notch. Difford's lyrics have never been more poignant, observant and clever, and Tilbrook's music is the perfect accompaniment. Glenn's voice is in fine form here too. Perhaps their most ambitious album, Play didn't score any hit singles but it has remained a favorite of Squeeze and Pop fans alike.
