It seems incredible to realise it now, after all the years of bad self-parody and grubby Sex Pistols reunions, but once John Lydon and PiL were a creative force to be reckoned with. Jah Wobble's experimental bass dub on 1979's Metal Box has become the stuff of legend, and even though the bassist is missing from this 1980 live album, there are still many moments here to cherish. Ex-Clash guitarist Keith Levine's serrating guitar sound on the ultra-sarcastic "Poptones" and self-descriptive "Carerring", for two.
