There's no shortage of melodramatic goth music out there, but that doesn't prevent Soil and Eclipse from adding to the pile. Meridian, the band's sophomore effort, sees Jay Tye and partner G.W. Childs approaching goth from the electro perspective; the result is a well-sequenced keyboard- and drum-machine-based musical attack that, unfortunately, is weakened by Tye's David Gahan-meets-Andrea Bocelli vocals.
