The least acknowledged of the Three Kings who ruled in the early '70s (B.B. and Albert rounding out the triumvirate), Freddy King nevertheless had a great sway on the blues that followed his death in 1976. His aggressive, stringing leads turned the heads of Eric Clapton and his blues-rock British peers, who, in turn, passed his legacy on to most of the bar-band jammers gnashing their way through "Sweet Home Chicago" to this very day.
