Hidros 3 was written for Sonic Youth by Mats Gustafsson in connection with KulturBro 2000. The piece was premiered on Oct 9th 2000 at the Ystad Konstmuseum in south of Sweden. Together, Gustafsson & Sonic Youth teamed up with American guitar legend Loren Mazzacane Connors, Lotta Melin, David Stackenäs & Lindha Kallerdahl. Armed with 5 guitars, electronics, voices, audiobox & contrabass saxophone, the group created a massive & monumental sound. Hidros 3 is in many ways related to Sonic Youth`s releases on their own SYR label (Sonic Youth Records) & their soundtrack to the French movie "Demonlover".
