From Here To Eternity, Moroders 1977 concept album, sort of flipped the bird at the band Boston, which had haughtily proclaimed their debut album contained no electronic keyboards. Moroder responded by announcing only electronic keyboards were used on this recording.
In addition to being a huge influence on the dance scene, Moroders work reveals the stirrings of electroclash decades before its emergence as a recognized pop form. Much like Kraftwerk, Moroder has gone largely unheralded by the American public for his pioneering role in electronic music. But its almost impossible to listen to this album, itself over a quarter of a century old, without hearing the seeds of genius preparing to sprout.
