Dutty Rock [Explicit Lyrics]

Once Paul announces "This is the real dutty rock" any notion of being the new clown prince of reggae disappears and you are left with the brooding two-step of "Shout (Street Respect)" followed closely by the standout "Gimme The Light". Of the whopping 22 tracks on here there is a broad range of styles to compliment the dance-hall vibe from catchy pop such as "Like Glue" or the "Uptown Ranking" homage "I'm Still In Love" to east coast hip-hop going as far to sample the Eric B & Rakim classic "I Know You Got Soul" on "International". There are many guests but most notable are Busta Rhymes doing some pseudo-ragga chatting on the reworking of "Gimme The Light" plus this year's must have accessory, The Neptunes, producing "Bubble" which promises so much but never really gets going.

The only drawback to Dutty Rock is the amount of tracks--none of which are that bad but some are more filler than others. --Georgina Collins
