The second volume of the venerable British pop-reggae group's greatest hits is drawn from their generally lesser late '80s and early '90s work. By then, they'd found a formula that produced hits (gently percolating covers of pop classics and lightweight originals) and stuck to it. They'd pretty much abandoned the fiery (and specifically British) politics and deep-bass reggae of their early years, but losing the edges of their style also truncated the joy of its highs.
