Judging by the primal scream of 6Twenty, not only have New Zealand's D4 sold their souls to rock & roll, they've spent the proceeds on records by all the old favourites: Johnny Thunders, the Ramones and--but of course--the MC5. The message here seems to be simple: anything the Hives can do, we can do better--and such an attitude lays down the foundation for 12 tracks of garage-rock in excelsis.
