White Noise review

Posted : 12 years, 4 months ago on 13 December 2011 08:55

I don't understand why so many dislike this movie. It's such a shame because I loved it. I think the story is a brilliant one and there's no denying Keaton's acting to be anything less than perfect, as always. Perhaps I am judging it solely on my love of the supernatural and how often this one made me panic, but either way, if you are also into ghosts and the like, it's not one to miss.

An average movie

I wasnโ€™t sure what to expect from this flick but since it was a surprise success at the box-office (probably one of the last starring Michael Keaton), I was quite eager to check it out. Eventually, I thought the whole thing was actually a terrible waste. Indeed, in my opinion, this movie had such a great potential but, at the end of the day, they completely messed it up... To be honest, I really don't believe in EVP (electronic voice phenomena) but like exorcism, ghosts and other paranormal phenomenoms, you will actually never know for sure and there was actually something fascinating about this concept. However, instead of making an interesting study about this subject, they eventually went completely over the top and displayed some really unbelievable stuff that has never actually happened to anyone confronted with EVP... Sure, you could argue that I shouldnโ€™t take the story so seriously but, for me, it completely ruined the movie and it was too bad because it could have been way better than this. To conclude, even though the whole thing was not completely awful, I still think it was really disappointing and I donโ€™t think it is really worth a look, expect maybe if you love the genre.

Surprisingly Scary.

"White Noise", is a surprisingly scary film, with a great story, and excellent acting. The film starts off a little slow, but gets very interesting after about fifteen or twenty minutes. The film revolves around a man named Jonathan Rivers (Micheal Keaton), who loses his wife in a car accident, and is informed of a way to contact the dead. He contacts her, along with evil spirits, that throughout the film stalk Jonathan. The rest of the film is very fun to watch, and quite scary. I think this is a genuinely good horror film, and would not suggest watching it alone, because you will get spooked.

This move truly was good. Nice cool plot, killer suspense and a frigging awesome ending! Some of the parts were really good and looked like they were done with a lot of money used. The sets were very nice, they set a eery mood almost all the time. I have seen better movies, but this one sure takes a piece of the cake!

I really thought that the acting was pretty good. Though not the best... but still good!

I rate this a 7/10, but all of you who like scary ghost movies will probably give it an 8 or a 9! I definitely recomend this to those of you whom like the creepy and eerie things! as well as the supernatural. I also liked the ending, it was very unclear and made it easy for the viewer to imagine what happened afterwards
