At the end of World War II. during the general mobilization, the young poet, Bálint is also declared fit for military service. On the train taking him to the battle-line, he recalls his last few days. He fled to spend a few more nights with his love, Júlia. They visited their old friend in Szentendre who was a painter and who was hiding a French deserter. By the following morning Júlia had disappeared, and the police accused her of illegal activity. They parted each other citing a poem by Apollinaire. The train is blown up out in the open track... (MaNDA)
