Zoltán Monori Horváth, an extremely wealthy but now sick old textile factory-owner would, he thinks, take comfort from his son, Gábor, an underpaid young scientist, becoming a saver of the family fortune rather than that of mankind. For the young man, who is addicted to scientific research, to become a textile factory-owner would be absurdity at its worst.
