An average movie

Posted : 8 years, 1 month ago on 16 August 2016 07:31

Since this movie had a rather lame reputation and since most of the recent comedies starring Cameron Diaz were really weak, I had some really low expectations concerning this movie. Well, even though it might sound surprising, I thought it was actually not bad at all after all. I mean, the  concept was pretty weak and the whole thing should have never worked but, somehow, I thought it was actually quite entertaining. Indeed, I was positively surprised by Cameron Diaz who finally displayed that she could be really funny after at least 10 years of really poor work. Leslie Mann was pretty good too and, together, they really rocked in spite of the rather poor material  provided to them. Hell, even Nicky Minaj was not bad in this movie! Concerning Kate Upton, she was obviously cast for her insane body but they could have chosen someone who didn't look and sound like a total bimbo. Indeed, it would have worked better with another famous model just as young and good looking as Upton but who could also function on the same intellectual level as Diaz and Mann. Anyway, to conclude, even though it was nothing really groundbreaking whatsoever, it turned out to be actually a decent comedy and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.

The Other Woman review

For what it is worth, I see this movie becoming another teenage chick flick sleepover film. I was presently surprised by Nicki Minaj. Yes, this plot has been done before, and they beginning of this film dragged on, but i found the middle and end enjoyable. I enjoyed the casting and was also surprised by Kate Upton's acting skills. I give this a 6/10 for enjoyment.

The Other Woman review

I have never really been into Cameron Diaz, but I am quite fond of most of the rest of the cast. The plot isn't really new as we basically saw the same thing years ago in a film called John Tucker Must Die. This time it involves an adult crowd instead of a bunch of high school students. I love the little revenge tricks they pull on the guy. I thought Nicki Minaj played her part well to be honest. She wasn't bad at all. I have to say the shower scene is probably the funniest part. I actually liked this a little more than I thought. The funniest actors had to be Leslie Mann and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau though. The ending was pretty funny. Looks like this Lannister couldn't pay his debts haha.
