“To be honest, I thought I had seen enough Nicholas Sparks’s book adaptations but, since this one was fairly well received, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, the beginning was not promising, that’s for sure. Indeed, it was just so annoying, generic and tedious to watch, like most of Sparks’s stories. I didn’t help that bullriding is such a ridiculous sport. Still, I have to admit that Britt Robertson and Scott Eastwood were really cute and they had a nice chemistry together. But, eventually, what really saved this movie was the sweet love story involving Ira and Ruth. Indeed, it worked so well that they could have actually got rid off of the main tale and focus only on them. To make things worse, the mix of these two stories was rather cumbersome.
