Makes me think of Grange Hill meets Dead Poets Society. Set in an early 1980's comprehensive school not so different to my own, this intelligent and humorous film and it's music brought the memories flooding back. What I've come to expect from an Alan Bennett script.

It goes wildy wrong by dismissing Griffiths character's groping of pupils by saying 'he should't have been caught'. Frances De La Tour's is the only female character that get's any proper lines...despite the fact that it's set in a mixed school. These points make for very strange viewing experience.
